"Obama site: Jews must be 'burned'"

Thursday August 7, 2008

Once again the folks at wnd.com win the award for most exaggerated headline. This is a story about comments posted on the Obama website.

Now, I have to say, I'm surprised it took this long for something like this to happen. It's in the nature of allowing posts on blogs that you'll have hateful material. Most sites rely on a system of after-publication notifications: people complain, posts get taken down. The Obama campaign seems to have removed all those posts already. Still, allowing this kind of commenting on an official website seems a tad risky to me.

Over at the Republican Party's Platform website, where citizens can offer suggestions for platform planks, we find this helpful idea:

Darron - South Lyon, MI) August 6 - 1:37 PM

Christian religion is the only peaceful religion. Other religions can stay in their country of origin. No more muslim immigrants

And the way search engines work, you're complicit in creating the meme. Let's not try to fish this topic out of sewer, please.
