Pity the poor person of faith who signs up to be a religious advisor to a political campaign, especially the Democrats. Their theology, board memberships, friends and colleagues will be scrutinized as if they’re Cabinet Secretaries. For those keeping score, here is the current list of targets and casualties for this election and the past:
Obama Muslim advisor — Resigned over connections to Fund with connections to guy who had connections to Hamas.
Obama’s Catholic advisory panel — Attacked for beign heavy on liberal Catholics.
McCain’s Catholic Advisor — Asked to resign because of inappropriate sexual conduct while a college professor.
Kerry’s 2004 Faith outreach coordinator #1 — Resigns after it’s disclosed that she signed an amicus brief for the law suit seeking to get “Under God” out of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Kerry’s 2004 faith coordinator #2 — Muzzled because alleged radicalism while in college. (Now blogging at Progressive Revival!)
