If Obama feels sad about Santorum's comment and wants consolation, he might reach out to John McCain. At Friday's panel, Santorum made clear that he was supporting McCain despite the fact that he was "historically hostile to faith." He's not "a spiritual guy -- not one who's comfrortable in his own skin on faith." When they both served in the Senate together, Santorum said McCain "would often rail against Christian conservatives."
Should McCain try to show his personal faith more? No. "He wouldn't be good at it. He has a general antipathy to people motivated by faith."

Honestly, I try to show compassion to everybody, but Santorum has some seriously crazy ideas (I don't have anything against HIM, just many of the things he says and believes). If there is a Heaven and it is full of people like Santorum, I would much prefer to be in Hell.
Or if I was in Heaven with Santorum and people like him, I would ask God to place me somewhere where I would not come into contact with him.
