Good Bye
Today is my last day at Beliefnet (which I co-founded in 1999). The swirling emotions: sadness, relief, love, humility, pride, anxiety.
But mostly deep, deep gratitude.
How many people get to come up with an idea and have rich people invest money to make it a reality? How many people get to create

My Big News
Dear Readers,
This is the most difficult (and surreal) post I've had to write. I'm leaving Beliefnet, the company I co-founded in 1999.
In mid November, I'll be stepping down as President and Editor in Chief to lead a project on the future of the media for the Federal Communications Commission, the

Secularizing the Cross (Christian Activists: Be Careful What You Wish For)
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments this week, in Buono v. Salazar, about whether a white 6 1/2 foot cross can be displayed in a national park as a tribute to World War I soldiers. Though it's depicted as a classic clash of the secular and the religious, it actually illustrates why Christian act

I think its more that she is trying to hide it thats more important than what she believes. That and she knows God’s will. As she was on camera saying she did.
IMO prophets should be have the spirits tested. Are Leah Daughtry and Joshua Dubois prophets? I don’t think so.
I’m going to quit dancing on the issue. Palin does not met the standards set by St Paul and St John to be a prophet.

Now…that’s funny.
Has anyone heard of Governor Palin claiming to be a Prophet?
…bearing false witness against your …er… sister and alla that…

Hmm, a candidate that speaks in languages that are not even human? Perhaps she would have been a perfect running mate for Dennis Kucenich (and I probably spelled his name wrong) because then she could have communicated with the Space People.
I do hope McCain wins. Four years of continuous laughter is something we can all use.

Its not that she claims she is a prophet by word. She claims to be a prophet by deed. She claimed to know the will of God for something that was clearly Human will, and thus speaks for God. So talks like a prophet, acts like a prophet, she’s a prophet. Or a false one.
I vote false.
Test the spirits people. Don’t follow those that are bearing false witness, telling you that you should look down on others, telling you that you are on your own if you get in trouble, getting into unneccesary war, just because they claim they are for abolisihing abortion.
They are lying to you.

“I’m going to quit dancing on the issue. Palin does not met the standards set by St Paul and St John to be a prophet.”
Wow! that is ignorant!
Paul and John were Apostles, not prophets. Paul clearly identifies these as separate offices in I Corinthians.
If you have any documented evidence that Sarah Palin has claimed to be a prophetess, please post it. Otherwise, a little repentance (and confession, if so indicated) might be in order for bearing false witness…

So I assume you do not claim to be Christian? I mean, since this was a common practice in the early church, you certainly would not want to follow the teachings of the apostles, right?

Can you provide documentation? I have not seen anything with Sarah saying she knows God’s will. I have seen a video where she is asking a group to pray for the will of God in several human endeavors, including the war and a pipeline. But there is a big difference for asking for prayer for God’s will and saying you know God’s will.
Methinks you might be guilty of bearing false witness yourself…

RLB,
The YouTube in this post has Palin talking about it being God’s Will that the pipeline get built.
