The press release from the Republican National Convention tells you all you need to know about the McCain campaign's view about the utility of the current president.
There's a headline announcing featured speakers -- Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman. The first paragraph repeats the news about Thomspon and Lieberman and spells out the theme (Country First). The second graf has a quote from the RNC about McCain's leadership, the third graf has a quote about McCain's leadership from McCain's campaign manager.
If you're still reading and get to the fourth paragraph you'll learn:
"Among the other speakers announced today are President George W. Bush (via satellite), First Lady Laura Bush, U.S. House Republican Leader John Boehner (Ohio), U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman (Minn.), and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.)"
Oh yeah, the President of the United States -- he'll be speaking too.
