Dear Readers,
Last week at Beliefnet we implemented a small change to our blog commenting system - you now have to confirm that you are a real person, and not a spammer, by typing in a few characters of text upon submitting your comments. This change was necessary in order to curtail the amount of spam that many of our blogs have been receiving in the comments area. We know that some of you have experienced problems with the new system. We are quickly making changes to address the issues you have reported--including extending the period before it times out, better messaging about how to post, and instructions for how to retrieve your post if it appears lost.
We hope those changes help. Let us know if there are other changes you recommend. Thank you for your patience.

Steve,
I have been one of the complainers. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge our frustration and to let us know something is being done. The knuckledraggers and mouthbreathers who have caused this problem have given a fine meat product and Monty Python theme a baaaad name - shame on them.
Thanks for listening to the frustrated users. Tonight posting as been a little easier...only a couple had to be resubmitted.
I love what you have done with the place!
Excellent Job, Steven

Steven:
Just posted on your site, the blog on Stupid Catholics, Mindless Catholics. Anyhow, finished, typed the magic numbers and letters, hit Post, then the red letters popped up saying that that code has expired. So resubmitted it...and now it is there 2 times...the first went in. Have others been resubmitting accidently? That time limit can be a problem...when it pops up that the code has expired AFTER it has been typed and "post" has been hit.
