Planetwire.org, a website on family planning issues, reports:
Two new radio advertisements for condom use began to target Catholics in the U.S. Hispanic community here today, World AIDS Day, with the message that "good Catholics use condoms" to protect the people they love.

'Funny the RCC doesn't talk about the dangers of pregnancy.'
These risks are brought to light more than adequately by medical proffesionals.
'Oh, and I thought their objections to contraception were religious but you are talking about medical problems.'
Sometimes (more often than not) the two go hand in hand, nmnns. Glad you brought religion into the frey as you can't seem to help yourself. Here's another little tidbit you might find interesting as a man of science:

Oh, so religion changes as scientists learn more? Then when does the Pope announce there's no sign of a Christian god anywhere in science?
As for your link it demonstrates that neither abortion nor pregnancy are things to enter lightly so alternatives, such as effective contraception, should always be available. Which is what the adds support.
I meant to add that since early abortions are surely safer than later ones, abortion should be available without delay to those who decide they need it.
Tom,
As much as you would like to think artificial birth control is dangerous, so is life itself. If a woman has the risk factors that are mentioned in the warnings on the pill, or IUD's etc., then she can decide if she wants to take them or use it. However those don't stop STD's or Aids. You have attempted to sell the Catholic Roulette method. Personally, I wouldn't want to take the chance on an unplanned pregnancy, and not being Catholic, I didn't take that chance. 2 kids spaced just like we wanted and a husband who loved me enough to take himself out of the gene pool...life is good. More power to the RCC women who must watch a calendar to decide when to have sex! I have many Catholic friends...and they don't have a ton of kids...and I can be pretty sure that they aren't celibate. The most my friends have...4 and that is only one of them. 1-3 is the norm. They wanted to be able to feed, clothe and provide an advanced education for their kids. You're telling me that Catholic Roulette is reliable?
The more education the Hispanic population (and others) about condoms the better.
Oh, if indeed artificial birth control methods like the pill etc. are dangerous, then a condom is the safest..serves to prevent pregnancy AND STD's and thus less abortions...thus making the RCC REALLY happy!
I'll never forget the World (Catholic) Youth rally held in Toronto. A group of Australian Catholic 'youth' were being interviewed about their plans for after the worship services. Turns out their plan was to go to clubs to meet some girls to hook up with and get laid. "Don't worry, we'll be using condoms."
Nevermind the 'sin' of pre- (extra-) marital sex (with a stranger, no less, something we're led to believe only the kweers do!), they were apparently totally cluelesss about their Church's teachings on artificial birth control.
Ah youth, eh?
