Good Bye
Today is my last day at Beliefnet (which I co-founded in 1999). The swirling emotions: sadness, relief, love, humility, pride, anxiety. But mostly deep, deep gratitude. How many people get to come up with an idea and have rich people invest money to make it a reality? How many people get to create

Secularizing the Cross (Christian Activists: Be Careful What You Wish For)
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments this week, in Buono v. Salazar, about whether a white 6 1/2 foot cross can be displayed in a national park as a tribute to World War I soldiers. Though it's depicted as a classic clash of the secular and the religious, it actually illustrates why Christian act

A couple of comments: “REsponsible white separatist….” Dounds like an oxymoron to me. And I’ve got news for you, Mr. de Nugent. You don’t need a guy like von Brunn to make you look bad!
I have a question, Steve: Why dignify such people by quoting them?

I read that article and comment, too. It really does leave you speechless.

still posting here despite the popups and incompetently implemented captcha, though I don’t know for how long. I’ve seen few sites that are more unfriendly to readers.

Why dignify such people by quoting them?
For the rich irony of someone who is so completely unaware of his own behavior. De Nugent is mocking himself without realizing it.

I read this piece on the MSN home page this morning. It’s amazing when people who promote an ideology of hatred find the chickens coming home to roost. “Responsible White Separatist” – ROTFLMAO!

Since obviously the real problem for White Supremacists is just a PR problem, I guess we can expect a new public image campaign soon. “Not Your Father’s KKK”? “We Hate So You Don’t Have To”? Others?
