Maybe its just me, but it seems like the last time I saw Mandy Moore she was playing a stuck up girl in the great religious comedy Saved! and guest starring as a clutzy love interest on Scrubs.  Despite selling over 10 million albums and starring in several films she really seemed to disappear for awhile – other than highly publicized relationships of course.  This past year Mandy played the voice of Rapunzel in the Disney animated film Tangled, signaling her return to the spotlight at this years Oscars.

During the show she performed a duet from the movie with co-star Zachary Levi.  While she may not have been able to maintain musical success, Mandy hasn’t lost a step vocally.  In fact, I would say she sounds better now than she did during her great run in the early 2000s.  Her voice is well suited for the Disney soundtrack style, and Zachary’s voice was a great compliment to it.  I only wish we could have heard more of the song!

Hopefully this will signal a comeback for Mandy.  Her take on Christian culture was always refreshing, and while I was never a huge fan of her music she did marry Ryan Adams.  That’s got to count for something right?
