Buddhism is clearly the worship of false idols, as warned in the Quran and other older version of the Word of God. Meditating is fine and it does tend to calm ones spirit, but it overrated via Buddhism. Focusing inwardly can only take you so far. Without a mediator to reflect this focus it becomes obstinate. God is real and he is our Mediator; and yours too, if you are willing to sacrifice some of the simple pleasures in life. The love you feel for your family or that special someone is an example of the love and the peace that is abundant through God’s love. It’s difficult, especially in our age, to accept this. We are an intelligent, well educated and prosperous society. We are all searching for that peace and happiness that, for some of us, has only been rarely experienced. Most people believe that it simply requires too much to follow God’s way; and really are embarrassed to be classified in this denomination. That my fellow earthlings, is the first step toward happiness: Allow Him to lead you life – Tell Him that you accept him and your burdens immediately become lessened. Take a load off. I took the time to write this because I care about you.

Greg,
I respectfully disagree with your first statement. Buddhism does not involve the worship of any idol. The Buddha is not worshiped as any kind of god, but would be comparable to how one would respect a prophet or saint in the Judeo-Christian faiths. It is his knowledge that is valued and respected, and it is on that basis that we study his teachings.
I firmly believe that there is no one ‘true path,’ and if there were it would have been shown to us clear as day, with no speculation to the truth. Rather, all paths are true if you walk it with love and kindness in your heart.

Great talk , Taigu. A lil gem to help pick me back up. Everything is the student and the teacher.
Greg, I’m not christian so all this talk of false idols or not is completely irrelevant to my person. Some forms of buddhism are bigger on worship. Me, not so much. Everything is what it is. Maybe many deities or just one or none at all. The Way is unchanged regardless.

I am agree with Greg Barker. I think that even before following the God’s driven path, we should try to know ourselves. We can’t achieve the peace of mind without honesty and knowing the truth.
