Watchwoman’s Editorial: Mitt’s Mistake is revealing his lack of taking a leadership roll on the First Amendment Right’s Constitutional Protection of Dan Cathy, the president of Chick-fil-A. Romney has made a very serious error and it is going to bring the wrath of conservative Christian values’ voters upon him. While we can all agree that even Ronald Reagan wasn’t perfect, in fact, I don’t recall when we ever had a perfect man as president, but Mitt Romney is being downright thickheaded and stupid for not cashing in on the support he could have garnered by coming out of his closet of cowardly correctness. Is he better than Obama? By a gazillion percent! But he might not be as sharp as I would have given him credit for getting on the majority side of this issue. This may sink his poll numbers lower – and recently they are coming down. He was doing a whole lot “righter” but this gaff will cost him severely! This just maybe the deciding factor in getting Obama a second term. I can see it all now in that little place in my mind reserved to remember the failures in politics, where I can see Obama thanking Satan for a wonderful birthday present. Mitt Romney: Chick-fil-A ‘Not Part of My Campaign’

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney says he wants nothing to do with the Chick-fil-A controversy and declined to defend the embattled fast food chain. At a Friday press conference, Romney, when asked about efforts to stop the restaurant from opening in several cities because of its stand in favor of traditional marriage, said, “Those are not things that are part of my campaign.”
Chick-fil-A has set a one-day sales record amid an ongoing controversy over a company executive’s public stance against same-sex marriage.
The Atlanta-based company confirmed in a statement earlier this week that the sales record was broken Wednesday for “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” after it was declared by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister and Fox News talk-show host.
Chick-fil-A vice president Steve Robinson says the company won’t release sales figures for Wednesday, when customers lined up outside restaurants and the Rev. Billy Graham, the 93-year-old evangelist, dined on a Chick-fil-A lunch.
That’s a mistake, Ralph Reed, the founder of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, told Politico. He argued that Romney has ground to gain not just with the social conservative base from jumping into the fray.
