Happy end of the first week! Thanks for hanging in here and doing this experiment. Today’s assignment is to do what’s in front of your face, the proverbial “next indicated thing.” Of course you want the penthouse and the private jet, or the loving husband and the two kids, or the cottage in the country where you support yourself growing herbs. But between today and the great THEN in the sky are thousands of tiny actions. What’s before you right this minute? Chances are, it’s not terribly glamorous. For me, it’s: write this blog; eat your lunch; rest your neck (and try to prop up the laptop so you can watch some video from the Vibrant Living Expo while lying on your back with a TempurPedic pillow). Then I’ll have clients, an hour for a writing assignment, and then I’ll have to rest my neck again. Not stunning. But on the way to stunning.

Hi Victoria,
I’m following your 30 days. What a great idea for time alone. Yesterday I made my wish list to the universe, and today I’m doing what’s what’s in front of me. I’m working on my website, specialdollsonline, to improve the traffic for sales. An interesting experience just happened to me. I just had a garage sale, and I committed to God to give 10% of the sales. (I’ve also pledged this for profits from the website). The garage sale was the first part of September, and as of today I hadn’t sent the check to my charity of choice. I also haven’t had a doll order since August. Well, this afternoon I wrote my checks and took them to the mailbox to mail. When I came back and checked my website, I had an order to fill. This reinforces the importance of tithing for me.

In addition to plugging along with your 30 day plan, my husband and I have some “five year” goals we’ve been working on as a team.
Your post came along at an opportune time, because just today I was looking at some things that other people have achieved that are also on our goal list and feeling like we have such a long way to go, financially, to achieve them. We’re getting there but it’s good to remember that it’s achieved one step at a time!

So true – great analogy.

Your comments today about the backstage scene reminded that when I attended Al Anon we had a saying, “It’s not helpful to compare your insides to other people’s outsides.”

Isn’t it amazing how God works? Tithing is just the coolest thing. And especially in the beginning, I think, or when one comes back to tithing after some time away from it, the “signs” are unmistakable. Congratulations!
