Wayne Dyer’s New Movie “The Shift”

I had a wonderful evening recently that I’d like to share with you. After a long and somewhat grueling day, I sat down in the quiet of my living room and watched Wayne Dyer’s wonderful new film, “The Shift” and was moved to tears…in a good way.

I’m a major film buff, so I admit I was a bit skeptical but I must confess that I was pleasantly and positively surprised. This is a movie to see and share with your friends and family.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Asilomar, a retreat center in Monterey, California (and one of my favorite place’s in the world!), “The Shift” is a story about our collective tendency to lose ourselves and forget what matters. It’s characters are all people just like many of us: consumed with the material world, driven to distraction and often disconnected from our authentic selves, nature and the world around us.

One by one as the characters in the movie descend upon Asilomar, we begin to witness their egoic need to control, judge and criticize, which renders each of them incapable of seeing or experiencing the beauty, joy and love that is all around them. The characters’ unhappy and fragmented lives are revealed to us in sharp contrast to the beauty and tranquility that surrounds them.

In different ways, the characters’ (including actors Portia Di Rossi, Michael DeLouise and Ed Kerr) lives are dramatically altered through a series of events, miracles, and synchronicities. Throughout the film, Dyer’s wisdom and presence as a kind and  compassionate teacher, intuitively guides  the characters (and the audience) to a deeper knowing of their higher selves and purpose.

“The Shift” gently calls us to ask some very big questions and provides us with insights and guidance into the possible answers, which are simply waiting for us to create the space to discover.

I encourage you to give yourself the gift of “The Shift” which is filled with hope and surprises, and promises to nourish your soul.

Wayne Dyer, who was recently diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, has perhaps given us his most inspired work in this film.

Thank you, Wayne, for sharing the music inside of you.
God Bless you. Our prayers are with you.
