Did you know that practicing gratitude
can actually improve your brain function and overall physical and
emotional well-being? Well, it’s true.
Brain scans and
research conducted by renown psychiatrist, Dr. Daniel Amen showed a
significant improvement in brain function following the practice of
gratitude. For years now, spiritual leaders and psychologists have
claimed that a positive attitude can help heal our lives, but now we
know that the simple act of gratitude can actually improve our
physical and emotional well-being. And it’s free!
Some of
the distinct benefits of a daily dose of gratitude include:
- Increased joy in the simple things in life.
- Ability to
recover quickly from life’s setbacks and disappointments.
- Improved
relationships – people prefer to be around people who are grateful.
- Greater physical stamina and energy.
- Increased
happiness and acceptance.
- Stronger, healthier immune system.
Join our gratitude circle today on
Beliefnet.
Here’s a Blessing for today:
Morning Prayer
Infinite God, of life, goodness, and generous
love, I dedicate my
heart, my life, to you.
Help me to cherish all human life,
and
do the good you want me to do.
Make me a loving example of your
generous love,
and a blessing to everyone I see.
May your
goodness be fully in us, and in all that we
think, and say and do.
Peace and Blessings!

Dear Deborah
13th century mystic, Meister Eckhart, said that if the “only prayer we ever say is thanks it would be sufficient. Enjoyed the prayer above but would change one line from “Help me to cherish all human life” to “Help me to cherish all life.” Until we are grateful for all life, we will fail to trust enough and love enough to truly be grateful enough to be instruments of transformation.
