The Perfect Food for the Afternoon Blues

Cucumber Angel
Got the afternoon blahs? Need a lift? Instead of knocking back a cup of joe; instead of breaking into the office vending machine for an artificial lift, reach for something that is loaded with the B vitamins … reach for a healthy carb that will provide a quick lift that will last for hours!
Reach for a cucumber!!! Peel it and eat it or … make a bowl of cucumber salad!
CUCUMBER SALAD
Ingredients
* 4 cucumbers, thinly sliced
* 1 small white onion, thinly sliced
* 1 cup white vinegar
* 1/2 cup water
* 1/2 cup white sugar
* 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
Instructions: Toss your thinly cucumbers and onion in a large bowl. And then … Over a medium heat, combine the vinegar, water and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, and pour over the cucumber and onions. Stir in dill, cover, and refrigerate until cold. Really cold. Delish!

Nope Janice,i don’t like cucumber,well,not really as in NOT LIKING the cucumber,i don’t know the reason why my stomach do not welcome cucumber into my system,coz everytime i do,i feel bloated severely,i don’t like that feeling,lol,and maybe because cucumber is cold fruit,my inside is sensitive to it,i drink hot water all the time if not lukewarm or must be that there’s something about cucumber that my body doesn’t take,i dont know.maybe if its just small portion i would,but if i can help not to eat it,i won’t.thanks anyway for the suggestion,apple can be replacement instead of cucumber,and i just follow your procedure,it’s not a bad idea,ha?thanks!

Miss J, I have found that a nice cup of hot, black cherry tea does the trick for me. That or a small handful of cherries. Yum!

Tony’s story touched my heart. I thought of children tossed into the garbage and someone had everyone come together to rescue them.
