I admit to wondering whether Mara Vanderslice was over-reacting when she wrote over at Progressive Revival that the McCain television ad implied, to evangelicals, that Obama was the anti-Christ.
But check out this column from Hal Lindsey, author of the Late Great Planet Earth. After describing how Obama is being treated as the Second Coming, Lindsey writes:
Obama is correct in saying that the world is ready for someone like him - a messiah-like figure, charismatic and glib and seemingly holding all the answers to all the world's questions. And the Bible says that such a leader will soon make his appearance on the scene. It won't be Barack Obama, but Obama's world tour provided a foretaste of the reception he can expect to receive.
He will probably also stand in some European capital, addressing the people of the world and telling them that he is the one that they have been waiting for. And he can expect as wildly enthusiastic a greeting as Obama got in Berlin.
The Bible calls that leader the Antichrist. And it seems apparent that the world is now ready to make his acquaintance.

Linsey's shipped sailed long ago, and is circling Alpha Centauri about now. Though they left him here, they took his credibility with them.
The only ones making Obama into something Bigger Than Life are the media. Someone please, start the Olympics - the media are getting bored and silly.
Don't you know? The anti-Christ will be a woman. Perhaps it's Paris Hilton, or Britney Spears who will actually turn out to be "the One."
The Antichrist Obama and his Pro-Abortion Communist Gestapo will CHANGE USA into USSA - United Socialist States of America.

How dumb can you possibly get to believe in the coming of an Antichrist? The mind boggles. There really are some fools who'll believe anything.
Nonetheless - if there's a devil I guess we get to assume there's a God.
What fantastic reasoning!
